The new series of The Apprentice starts tomorrow with sixteen new contestants.

I can't wait for it to start again - but will have to video it because it crosses over with Rock Rivals

Does anyone else watch this?

Yeah I love this show.

I particularly enjoy the early stages when the freaks are still in it.

Apparently there is a bumper collection of corporate weirdos this year so looking forward to it.

Only 6 people left now and apart from Michael i think they are the right ones to still be there.

And, it's on tonight not tomorrow due to the footy

Apprentice finalist Alex Wotherspoon has received death threats.

The BBC is conducting an investigation after the 24-year-old admitted that he has been subjected to threatening emails since the series began in March.

The Sun quotes him as saying: "There are obviously some warped people out there because I’ve been getting some seriously abusive messages. One guy even sent me an email saying ‘I wish you’d die’, which was a bit strong."

A BBC spokeswoman said: "Obviously we take the safety of the contestants very seriously so we are looking into this."

An insider added: "Unfortunately it goes with the territory on The Apprentice. If you put people in a high-pressured situation they could act quite tough and mean.

"Most viewers understand it’s just TV - but occasionally some idiots don’t get it."

Fired contestant Nicholas De Lacy Brown has also received threatening messages.

The Apprentice final airs tomorrow at 9pm on BBC One.

Sir Alan Sugar has hired recruitment sales manager Lee McQueen to be his new apprentice.

The 30-year-old milkman's son triumphed over Alex Wotherspoon, Claire Young and Helene Speight in last night's final.

Lee and Claire triumphed in Sir Alan's last challenge, which was to design and launch a new male fragrance.

Fired candidate Michael Sophocles praised Claire's efforts in the task, telling Sir Alan: "Claire's been in the boardroom a number of times but she's shown so much tenacity and strength."

Simon Smith added: "With Claire you have a candidate that's evolved over this competition and taken on board what others have said to her.

"With Lee, you have someone who's consistent, consistently strong and consistently a winner from the start."

However, Jenny Celerier backed Lee, commenting: "He's such an amazing guy, this guy opens doors for people, no matter what has happened in the house, he has remained a gentleman."

After a long period of deliberation, Sir Alan concluded: "Claire you have some great attributes and Lee you're very convincing.

"You are very, very, very convincing. I've concluded... Lee, you're hired!"

Claire's mouth probably let her down, and she held it together when Lee appeared to lose it  yah5.gif

Apprentice finalist Alex Wotherspoon was hired to work for Sir Alan Sugar last year, according to The Sun.

The 25-year-old took on a three-month contract for Sugar's Viglen firm after he impressed Bordan Tkachuk, the company's chief executive.

A spokeswoman for the show said: "Alex decided to take up his offer and completed a short-term contract with a subsidiary company of Viglen, but he no longer works for them."

Winner Lee McQueen and runner-up Claire Young also undertook work for Viglen recently.

An insider revealed that The Apprentice is filmed long in advance of its BBC One transmission and Sugar will often hire candidates during the show's run.

"It's necessary for The Apprentice to be recorded in advance to allow time for editing," the source explained. "Sir Alan makes his decision in the final boardroom as to the winner but does not reveal it to anyone until the day of filming You're Hired!

"He employs finalists until the programme is shown as they would be unable to find employment for this short period and cannot be out of pocket."

I watched Points of View earlier and quite a lot of people contacted them to say that they had avoided finding out who the winner was because they hadn't seen the week before's episode and as they settled down to watch the repeat a trailer came on for the final quite clearly showing who had been 'fired' - oops  21.gif
