I never really took to Geraldine McEwen's portrayal of Miss Marple. I love watching the Margaret Rutherford films (even though they are B&W ) but Joan Hickson is definitely 'my' Miss Marple
Who was your favourite Miss Marple?

Steven and I love Miss Marple we have all the Joan Hickson episode and watch them regularly - for us she is the definitive Jane from St Mary Mead but if we want a bit of comedy as well as a cracking Who dunnit we watch Margaret Rutherford (one of my favourite actresses ever), Stringer Davis was excellent in them too ! BTW I seem to have watched so many B/W movies I no longer notice the lack of colour ).
The Geraldine Mac Ewan portrayal was IMO pitiful, such a shame because she is a wonderful actress, the writers should be shot they took stories Miss Marple was never in and thrust her into the fray and spent more on employing star casts than getting the stories right. |
