I loved The Famous 5 (blame that on my dad, he got me into them), Charlottes Web,
The Jill Barklem books about the mice in the hedgerow,
Watership Down,
Some of the Roald Dhal books,
The Meg and Mog books
I'm sure that there are others, but I can't think of them off hand

I was brought up on Enid Blyton, my favourites being Mallory Towers, The Famous Five, the Naughtiest Girl and The Wishing Chair
I also liked the Three Investigators series by Alfred Hitchcock
Little Women was another favourite - now that did make me cry in parts
Oooh, I'll definitely be coming back as I think of more books that I read when I was younger

Enid Blyton books!
I think I read all of the Famous Five books, Amelia Jane books (I think she was called) and also the Wishing Chair. Memories...ahhhh!
My favourite young book was called The Weather Cat. I kept the book for years, but now it's lost - I've searched the net for the same book, but no joy yet

The Enchanted Wood was another of my faves.
I should go to my mom's loft - I bet they're all up there still as I never gave a book away!
