Frank Lampard's mum Pat dies aged 58Another one so young
Football star Frank Lampard's mum Pat died from pneumonia yesterday aged 58.
Lampard, 29, had rushed to her bedside after doctors warned her condition had deteriorated. He was with Pat when she passed away.
The Chelsea midfielder had missed two Premiership games to be with his mum after she was admitted to Whipps Cross Hospital, East London, 10 days ago.
But he played in Tuesday's 1-1 draw with Liverpool on Tuesday after Pat rallied. Lampard, who once called himself a "mummy's boy", said after the match that Pat would have wanted him to play.
He added: "She would've had a right go at me for not playing this game."
But he said that the days before were "the hardest of my life". Pat, the wife of West Ham legend Frank senior, leaves two daughters Natalie and Claire
