I think the biggest shock though was realising just who it was who had been hit by the bus

As you know I was going mad trying to figure out who John Doe was. Never would have guessed it was who it was.

And then the final scene! It was so touching.

I think that episode was done really well - kept me guessing right up to the end and then finished with a real bang.
