Jacqui Smith has escaped with a slap on the wrist after the Commons
sleaze watchdog decided she did break the rules by designating her
sister's house as her main home.
The set-up meant the former Home Secretary was able to claim £116,000
in 'second home' expenses on her family house in Redditch where her
husband and children live.
The MP, who became the biggest casualty of the expenses row after
quitting over the porn claims in June, will apologise to the Commons in
person this afternoon
But in a move that will anger the public, who are already incensed
over the wider MPs' expenses row, she will not have to pay back a penny.
If I had fiddled £116,000 I would have finished up behind bars and been
forced to pay the money back, and yet I am still asked why I don`t vote
when election time comes around when all I have on the voting paper is
rubbish like Jacqui Smith. A dishonourable lady if ever I saw one. Why, I
wonder is she allowed to break the law and get away with it? The sooner
they get kicked out the better. I just wonder what rubbish will stand the
next time

It says something about our MP's characters when they have to be forced to apologise when they have defrauded the country !
I was taught you get the government you deserve (you vote for them) but I don't think most of them represent the government we deserve - this greed and me,me,me attitude has to stop !
