Patrick Swayze dies age 57Another one that was expected but still seems sad 
Patrick Swayze has died in LA at the age of 57 after a two-year battle with pancreatic cancer.
He danced his way into millions of women's hearts when he played Johnny Castle in the classic 1987 film Dirty Dancing.
Swayze then cemented his place on the Hollywood A-list by starring opposite Demi Moore in Ghost.
His publicist Annett Wolf said: "Patrick Swayze passed away peacefully with family at his side after facing the challenges of his illness for the last 20 months".
He had kept working despite the diagnosis, putting together a memoir with his wife Lisa Niemi.
The couple met as teenagers, when Lisa was taking dancing lessons from Patrick's mother. Their marriage was one of the happiest in Hollywood, lasting 34 years until his death.
