Tarrant ex-wife parking row fine

She had to be chased, wrestled to the ground and handcuffed during the incident in Cobham, Surrey, on Christmas Eve.
She was convicted of failing to stop for a Pc, causing an unnecessary obstruction, resisting a Pc and wilfully obstructing a Pc.
Tarrant, 54, denied the charges at Staines Magistrates Court.
She was abrupt and rude to Pc Peter Groves when he tried to issue her with a ticket for obstruction, after leaving her Saab parked at a bus stop on 24 December, the court heard.
Two-mile chase
Tarrant, who had returned to her car after finishing her Christmas shopping, drove away and ignored his requests to stop.
The court heard she was chased by officers for two miles, before being restrained and forced into the back of a police vehicle.
Tarrant was also ordered to pay £1,200 costs, following the two-day trial.
In February 2007 she was granted a divorce from Chris Tarrant at London's High Court. |
