Warrant issued for singer BrownWhy do 'absent fathers' think it's ok to let their kids go without
| Quote: | An arrest warrant has been issued for singer Bobby Brown after he failed to appear at a court hearing involving child maintenance payments.
Judge Christina Harms ordered Mr Brown, 40, to be arrested next time he is in the state of Massachusetts.
Mr Brown has allegedly fallen $45,000 (£27,500) behind in payments for two teenage children he had with former girlfriend Kim Ward
He was briefly jailed in 2007 after failing to make the payments.
Failed marriage
Register of Probate Patrick McDermott said Mr Brown is obligated to pay $5,500 (£3,364) in child support each month for the children.
Mr Brown spent four days behind bars in 2007 while maintenance issues were sorted out.
He had numerous hits in the 1980s and early 1990s, including My Prerogative, Don't Be Cruel and Every Little Step, but has previously admitted he has not always been able to find work.
He was married to Whitney Houston in 1992 but they divorced 15 years later. They have one daughter together. |

If that is the case instead of just evading the payments he should say something and the amounts would be adjusted accordingly

Agree but for men like him perhaps an admittance like that would affect his machismo

Or, as with a lot of men, out of sight out of mind applies

I do see what your saying but at the end of the day its not his kids fault and they deserve better so therefore he should pay up what he can to support his children

Absolutely it does not absolve him from his responsibilities I was just putting forward a thought as to why he was doing it. At the end of the day it takes two to create a life and two should raise the child. Sadly I think a lot of men see giving child support as helping the mother instead of helping their child. I remember when Steven's brother was angry his ex wife was using some of the child support to pay her rent - he just couldn't see by paying the rent he was housing his child
