I think they're a brilliant invention

We have the whole set of Harry Potter Books on audio CD (read by Stephen Fry who is just excellent) and I can listen to them over and over again.

I have quite a few autobiographies on CD (usually read by the authors) and I also enjoy listening to the BBC's Radio Production of The Lord of the Rings

I tend to borrow them from the library though rather than buy them.  I love they way they are brought to life, either with just one person reading or a full cast reading.

I have to agree. At first it took some getting used to but it is great if you travel as much as I do. The latest one is "The Mist" by Stephen King and it is great in 3D sound on the old MP3

Years ago when I was stuck indoors a lot with my health I used to listen to audio cassettes and cds a lot. Not so much now but it is a great idea and I'm watching some Lord of the Rings cds on ebay at the moment

I hope you don't mind me asking Cazzie, but if you're blind how can you see the forum?

I have a friend who is blind and uses the computer with voice activated equipment, it can read passages to her and she types what she wants to reply. She uses e-mail this way I don't think she uses forums though, it;s a brave thing to do IMO.
