A couple smuggled a girl of 13 into Britain to work as a slave, a court heard yesterday.
Samuel Quainoo, 59, and wife Ernestina, 37, allegedly denied her schooling and friends, and made her do unpaid household chores.
Gillian Frost, prosecuting, said: "She was here effectively looking after their child."
The couple, of West Drayton, Middlesex, have already admitted trafficking but deny forcing her to work as a slave. The Isleworth crown court case was adjourned to examine the claims of the Ghanian girl, now 17
